Peter Gerstenzang and Steven Epstein Will Serve as Legal Defense Experts at an August 24th Roundtable Discussion Held at the Department of Transportation Conference Center in Washington, D.C.

Two NCDD members, Peter Gerstenzang and Steven Epstein, will participate in an August 24th meeting to review drug recognition and impairment research hosted by the Department of Justice (DOJ) in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Gerstenzang and Mr. Epstein will join with 15 experts invited to participate in a dynamic and informative roundtable discussion that will follow presentations by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) on their respective research portfolios. Mr. Gerstenzang and Mr. Epstein will serve as authorities representing legal defense interests and will be joined by field and lab practice experts to review drug recognition and impairment research at the day-long event.

The event will highlight critical insights of practice experts who handle possession, driving under the influence of drugs, and other drug-related cases and offenders. The purpose of the meeting is to disseminate information on current research to key stakeholders, and to solicit their feedback on information and practice needs that may be applied to research portfolio development.
