The 2022 NCDD Annual Summer Session Seminar will be held in Chicago this year! The theme is “Persuasive DUI Trial Techniques: The Superstars of DUI” It will feature nationally recognized attorneys teaching trial techniques for the defense of any DUI case that comes through your door. Regardless of your level of experience, or whether you handle DUI cases full-time or as a part of a larger criminal practice, this course will prepare you to obtain more acquittals and more favorable resolutions and let you hit it out of the park!. This course is a start to finish DUI seminar covering all the bases!

George L. Bianchi

  • George is recognized nationwide as an innovator in the defense of DUI and other alcohol/drug-related crimes.
  • He has lectured at numerous CLE programs throughout the United States concerning DUI defense and has been lead counsel in several cases resolving significant criminal law issues.

Edward L. Fiandach

  • Mr. Fiandach has been practicing DWI defense for over 40 years and is board certified by the American Bar Association in DUI defense.

Michael J. Kennedy

Judge Roderick Kennedy (Ret.)

  • Judge Kennedy is known for his expertise and teaching regarding the interface between law and science.
  • He was the first Chair of Bernalillo County’s DWI Planning Council, leading the creation of a $2.5 million treatment center at the Bernalillo County Jail, and the intensive pretrial supervision program that formed an early model for what is now Drug Court in Albuquerque.

William K. Kirk

Dr. Henry C. Lee

  • Dr. Henry C. Lee is one of the world's foremost forensic scientists. Dr. Lee's work has made him a landmark in modern-day forensic sciences.
  • He is currently the Chief Emeritus for the Department of Public Safety, tdision of Scientific Services and was the Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Public Safety for over two years and has served as that state's Chief Criminalist from 1979 to 2000.
  • Dr. Henry Lee has authored hundreds of articles in professional journals and has co-authored more than 25 textbooks, covering the areas, such as DNA, Fingerprints, Trace Evidence, Crime Scene Investigation and Crime Scene Reconstruction.

Andrea D. Lyon

  • Dubbed “The Angel of Death Row” by the Chicago Tribune, she was the first woman to serve as lead attorney in a death penalty case, and she holds an unparalleled 19 wins in 19 capital cases.
  • Managing a 22-lawyer unit, she tried over 130 homicide cases and defended more than 30 potential capital cases at the trial level, including taking 19 capital cases through penalty phase.
  • In January of 2015, Ms. Lyon was awarded Operation Push’s Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and President Lyndon B. Johnson Dream-Makers Award.

Professor Thomas A. Mauet

  • Professor Mauet teaches Evidence, Pretrial Litigation, and Trial Advocacy.
  • He is a former regional director of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) and has taught in numerous NITA programs throughout the United States since 1976.
  • Professor Mauet's research interests center on the application of social science research, particularly in psychology and communications, to the jury trial process.

W. Troy McKinney
