About Taylon Sumners-Schwartz
Taylon Sumners-Schwartz is an award winning attorney who handles criminal matters ranging from complex litigation to minor traffic offenses. Sumners-Schwartz Law, founded by Taylon in April of 2024 is a locally owned law firm serving Mt. Vernon, Missouri and surrounding areas in the 417. Taylon previously spent 9 years working for Dee Wampler and Joseph Passanise at Wampler & Passanise, before starting her own law practice near her hometown to give back to her community. She is known for her compassion, communication, and credibility in the courtroom. She fiercely advocates to achieve justice for her clients from start to finish. Taylon Sumners-Schwartz became an Attorney in 2020. She completed her Juris Doctor at Washburn University School of Law, where she graduated with Dean’s Honors and passed the Missouri Bar Exam with a score in the 90th percentile. Taylon represents clients facing serious criminal offenses including murder, drug-related charges, sex offenses and DUIs and is licensed in Federal Court with the Western District of Missouri. While at Washburn, Taylon was President and Founding Member of the Criminal Law Society and Outreach Coordinator for the Women’s Legal Forum. She was selected for the Order of the Barristers, a national honorary society that represents the highest honor a student can attain for distinction in oral advocacy. Washburn University is a charter member of The Order. In addition, Taylon participated in the American Association for Justice Trial Team, served on the Kansas Pre-Trial Justice Task Force which advocates for bail reform, and was a Legal Intern for the Johnson County Youth Court program. Taylon earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Nebraska Wesleyan University. While there, she volunteered teaching inmates at the Nebraska Correctional Center. As an undergraduate, she was selected for Who’s Who Among Colleges and Universities. A native of Aurora, Missouri, Taylon’s family owns and operates Service Vending Company.
