About Corinne J. Magee
Corinne Magee is the current Virginia State Representative for NCDD. She is a past-president Virginia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (VACDL) and a current member of its Board of Directions, and is also a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), and has previously served on its DUI Committee. Ms. Magee is an active member of the Fairfax County Bar Association, where she previously chaired the Criminal Practice Section for twelve years. She regularly teaches continuing legal education courses for the Fairfax Bar Association, VACDL, Virginia Trial Lawyers Association (VTAL), Virginia CLE and the Virginia Indigent Defense Commission, where she has taught “Trial of Adult Misdemeanors” for the Court-Appointed Certification Course since its inception. She has also taught courses for a number of other bar associations and organizations. In 2007, Ms. Magee was recognized as one of Virginia's Leaders in the Law for her work in challenging the abusive driver civil remedial fees in the courts. She has been designated a Virginia Superlawyer for criminal practice, and a Top Attorney in the D.C. Area in the area of criminal defense. Ms. Magee has authored an article, When Juries Punish too Much; Virginia's Sentencing System Scares Criminal Defendants Away From Trial. 27 Legal Times 27 (March 22, 2004), and has written the Fairfax Criminal Practice Manual (2006), which is distributed by the Fairfax Bar Association. She is a co-editor of “Defending Criminal Cases in Virginia,” published biennially by Virginia CLE.
