JOHN R. KORMANIK is a founding partner of the Boise law firm of KORMANIK & SNEED LLP. His practice focuses almost exclusively on criminal defense with a focus on defending those accused of DUI/DWI.
John graduated magna cum laude, from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California in 1998. Prior to founding KORMANIK & SNEED LLP, John served as a law clerk for the Honorable Darrel R. Perry of the Idaho Court of Appeals, as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of Idaho and as a shareholder with the White Peterson law firm. John is a member of the Idaho State Bar as well as the State Bar of California.
In addition to his membership in the National College for DUI Defense, John is a member of the Idaho Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (IACDL), the California Attorneys for Criminal Justice (CACJ), the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), and the DUI Defense Lawyers Association.
Outside of the office, John has many interests, especially activities involving his family. John is a three-time Ironman triathlon finisher — Coeur d’Alene 2009 in a time of 15:32; Arizona 2010, in a time of 13:33; and Coeur d’Alene 2011 in a time of 13:43. John has competed in various open water swimming events, including Deer Creek Marathon Swim – 5k, and CAST Classic – 10k. John believes setting the goal of successfully completing and training for various sporting events allows him to develop the skills necessary to assist him in the vigorous representation of his clients while providing a proper work-life balance.
