Tiftickjian is consistently recognized by Super Lawyers as one of the top DUI attorneys in Colorado, and has been listed as a Rising Star for the past five years. Tiftickjian was also named Law Week Colorado’s 2012 “Compleat” Lawyer.

Tiftickjian is a board member of the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar (CCDB) and is also a Life Member of the organization’s Adams County Section Chair. In 2013, he was appointed advisory counsel to the Adams County Drug Court. He is a frequent lecturer on ethics and criminal defense to local and state bar associations. In the State of Colorado, Tiftickjian has lectured multiple times to The Colorado Bar Association and the CCDB, as well as many county bar associations and public defender offices. He has also been asked to organize the CCDB’s annual DUI seminar for the past three years.

Tiftickjian is a co-author of Colorado DUI Defense: The Law and Practice (Lawyers and Judges Publishing Co.) and author of Facing a DUI Charge in Colorado: What You Need to Know (Thomson Reuters); He has also authored or co-authored many chapters in the Aspatore—Inside the Minds series on subjects such as forensic science, jury selection, search and seizure law, drug crime defense, and trial strategy.

Frequently asked to provide expert legal analysis to local and national press regarding high profile criminal and DUI cases, Tiftickjian has given his expertise to The New York Times, National Public Radio, The Denver Post, News Radio 850KOA, 9News Colorado, 7NEWS Denver, Colorado Law Week, and News Radio 710KNUS.

Denver DUI attorney Tiftickjian received his bachelor’s and law degrees from the State University of New York at Buffalo. In law school, he was awarded the Moot Evidence Award in recognition of the top graduate in the area of evidence, and was an executive editor of the Buffalo Criminal Law Review, one of the nation’s few law review journals focusing solely on criminal law. Upon graduation, he sat for and passed four bar exams in the span of 1 ½ years (New York, Massachusetts, Colorado and Arizona).

After working as a criminal defense attorney in New York, Tiftickjian moved to Denver in 2002 to be a Deputy District Attorney for the 17th Judicial District, prosecuting cases in Adams and Broomfield Counties. Tiftickjian left the DA’s office in 2004 and returned to private practice to specialize in DUI defense.

Attorney Tiftickjian has litigated thousands of DUI charges as a defense attorney and former deputy district attorney. He has received outstanding case results, including not-guilty verdicts and dismissals of charges ranging from Attempted First-Degree Murder, Vehicular Assault, First-Degree Assault, First Degree Kidnapping, DUI, DWAI, Distribution of Drugs, and Careless Driving Resulting in Death.

When he is not in the trenches, Tiftickjian enjoys time with his family and tries to enhance his skills on the guitar. While he will never be mistaken for Eric Clapton or Yngwie Malmsteen, he continues to grind away.
